Concept
Now you may be asking, why might a Minor Hockey
Association be involved with something like Puttin’ on
the Ritz.? Well for an annual fund raiser of course. With a
concept like this you see classy, but fun, possibly quirky,
or even sassy. With a particular event such as this there
needs to be a communication to both the team players
who are involved as well as the wonderful parents who
give their support.

Rationale
Being able to grab two different kinds of demographics
can be a challenge. But a solution can always be found
within design. Creating a monochromatic feel with a
splash of colour helps bring out a hierarchy of important
details. A nice image of a classy gala as a background
creates the atmosphere. Organizing information in a
nicely typeset format keeps the class as well as an easy
focus for information. Bringing out the more important
details, ones that might catch the younger demographic,
in colour not only in type but through the imagery as well
can defi nitely catch someone’s attention. Thus creating a
combination of eye-catching design for two very
different demographics.
